Top tips to keeping you healthy

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “health is wealth”, but more than that, maintaining our health is a commitment we owe to ourselves.

So today our bristol chiropractor Mandeep wanted to share 6 straightforward tips that can have a profound impact on your overall well being without taking up all your time exercising!

#1. Keep Moving

Say it with me now…“MOTION IS LOTION!” Our bristol chiropractor explains aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a swim, or a dance class, regular movement helps keep your body and mind in top condition. And on days you’re not able to get out, make sure you’re not staying Top tips for keeping you healthy! still for too long. Take regular breaks to get up, stretch, and move your body.

#2. Hydration is Key

Our bodies are mostly water, so staying hydrated is essential. But more than that, our Bristol chiropractor Mandeep explains staying hydrated is vital to keep our joints working well too.

The lubrication in our joints, synovial fluid, provides nutrition, shock-absorption and cushioning in our joints and prevents our bones coming into contact with one another. And staying adequately hydrated enables this fluid to do its job.

Drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day will help your body working at its best, and will

And remember, there are two reasons why you should never drink toilet water…

Number one. And number two.

#3. Nourish Your Body

Despite what you might see on Social Media, eating the right kind of foods to energise your body doesn’t need to be complicated.

Try and opt for whole, nutritious foods to fuel your body and mind, and keeping processed food to a minimum.

Think colourful fruits, leafy greens, lean proteins, and whole grains.

But remember, it’s also important to be realistic. our brsitol chiropractor recommends taking an 80/20 approach, where you try and make sure 80% of what you eat is high quality, nutritious food, but also allow yourself a little leeway for some treats!

After all, life’s about balance.

#4. Quality Sleep Matters

Good sleep is as crucial to our health as diet and exercise, and not getting enough sleep affects our metabolism, immune system, and our brain’s ability to function properly!

Most adults should aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night.

If you’re struggling with your sleep, our Reco Spinal team consisting of chiropractor, and spinal therapists ask you to consider reducing your screen usage for an hour before bed, drinking herbal teas, or supplementing with Zinc and Magnesium.

#5. Practice Stress-Reducing Techniques

Research has proven time and time again that stress is a ‘silent killer’.

In fact, consistently experiencing high levels of stress can lead to serious health issues and premature ageing, even in otherwise healthy individuals.

Meditation, deep-breathing exercises, yoga, or even a simple walk outdoors can be effective ways to manage stress, as can regular Chiropractic/ spinal adjustments!

#6. Regular Check-Ups and Care

It’s important to have regular health check-ups, including dental and eye exams.

And, speaking from experience, regular Chiropractic / spinal adjustments can also be a wonderful component of this routine. They can help to maintain your spinal health, improve your posture, and contribute to your body’s overall well being.

So, consider this: When was the last time you had a spinal health check?

It’s a small step, but it can be a significant part of your journey towards optimal health.
